Maria Cecilia Zea received her Ph.D. in Clinical/Community Psychology from the University of Maryland at College Park in 1990. She is a Professor at the Psychology Department and the Director of the Latino Health Research Center (LHRC) at the George Washington University. She is also an APA Fellow (Divisions 44 and 45). Dr. Zea was a member of NIH's Behavioral and Social Consequences of HIV/AIDS Study Section and has served as ad-hoc reviewer in NIH Study Sections and California HIV/AIDS Research Program. Her research interests are behavioral aspects of HIV/AIDS among Latinos. She has been the Principal Investigator of several NIH-funded projects (listed below).
